About Vicki

Hi and welcome to my website.

I’m never sure what to say here, so I think I’ll start by thanking the person who helped me so much with my site: my brother Will.  He’s a great guy and a talented one, too. (Just check out his website for his business, Focus Photography, and you’ll see what I mean.) How lucky I am that he and his wife Lucia decided to move to Maine from the West Coast a few years ago. I wish I could say it was my book that hooked them, but I think they just missed a decent cup of clam chowder.  At any rate… thank you, Will!

Growing up in New England has shaped me in many ways. I love winter, for one.  Independent-minded little towns, too. And our area’s sports teams… put it this way, I am a big fan of the Red Sox and Pats.  The fact that my mother is a Vermonter meant that we traveled to that beautiful state quite often, and I know that’s where I came to love mountains, trees, and nature.  Massachusetts, where Will and I grew up, boasts some incredible beaches, my favorite being the wide, sandy, nearly ten-mile long Nauset Beach.  Frequent trips to the coast instilled a longing to be near the ocean that has never left me. I suppose it’s no wonder that Maine, with its mountains, lakes, woods, and coastline,  called to me so strongly.

My husband Ed and I moved to the Pine Tree State in the mid-1980’s from Boston, and have never regretted our move.  (Except for that one time when Filene’s was having such a great sale…) We have great friends, great kids, funny pets, and an old house in the village that we cherish. I can hike whenever I want; knit colorful hats that I’ll wear come winter; and peek at the ocean through my kitchen window.

Tempermentally, I’m optimistic, friendly and loyal (yes, that describes a labrador retriever but I think they are on target for me as well) and I’m a Gemini so I always have way too many irons in the fire.

I thank you for stopping in, and I hope you’ll read a few of my pages and posts.  Cheers!

I have a Lab at home and sometimes my Husband says that I act like him. I also knit, but I don’t support the Red Sox or the Pats. I like the Chicago teams!!

    Love your website!

    Peggy,
I just went to Chicago this fall. What a great city. Can’t blame you for liking your “home” teams, but I hope you will be rooting for the Pats during the Superbowl………..
